Water authorities are responsible for ensuring dikes are safe, monitoring groundwater levels, ensuring there is sufficient clean water in brooks and streams and purifying sewage water.
Managing your taxes
You can manage all your tax affairs through BghU (a collaboration between the municipality and the water authority Utrecht) using the contact form on the English language page or call 088-0640200 on working days from 09.00-17.00 or from 09.00-13.00 in the months July and August.
Cost and payments
Do you own or use a building, land or a nature area? If so, you must pay water authority tax to your water authority. The money that they collect enables them to carry out their tasks.
